In my state, they require about 30 hours of college classes, with some specific courses required, then a test. Then you have to work a certain length of time (1 year?) under an experienced agent before you can work on your own.

I don't know how the requirements vary from state to state but in New York you need to take a 45 hour course, a state exam and be sponsored by a broker. The license then has to be renewed every 2 years.

Paste National Association Of Realtors into your browser, or check your library's reference section. They publish a very comprehensive handbook. Read the book and take the test. But consider this: many women have gotten rich listing real estate. And it was you, not your bf that made the effort. It sounds like he just wants a free ride.

yea, you can just take a state test...you dont even have to go to college but to get a job with one of the companies its better to go to college and take a couple classes in small bussiness management and house taxing and all..... i mean you can be a real state agent with out goin to college but if you do that ur bf will either have to open his own shop or he would have to be extremly lucky to get a jobs with one of the good real state companies but if he takes some bussiness clases he would have a better chance of passing the exam and a better chance of gettin the job... GOOD LUCK
