It is, indeed a free country.

Same sex marriage is currently legal in EVERY state in the United States.

It is not recognized by the government as equal to heterosexual marriage.

I do believe that within ten years it will be recognized as equal in EVERY state.

gay marriage in simple terms changes the gender or the different better half. The age requirement isn't replaced, the form of activities isn't replaced and so on. The gay rights stream began mutually because the black civil rights stream. in simple terms now are gay human beings even drawing near the brink of equivalent marriage. Generations fought and sacrificed for something they can in no way get exhilaration from. Are polygamists prepared to attempt this? no matter if or not they did they would not benefit important help. Polygamy is sexist and to promote it you've to promote polyamorous love so as that females ought to have assorted husbands. Monogamy is too far entrenched to tolerate polygamy. Polygamy preceded monogamy and gay marriage legally. Polygamy undoes the large variety element in marriage.

not as long as this country is being run by religious republicans. i don't mean to be anti-patriotic. it is just their mind-set. if we had a religiously neutral democrat controlled country, we would see it. the whole church and state issue also comes into play here. if 2 straight people can get married by a judge or other legal representative, without any religious factor, why can't gay people? that is a question that should bring an answer and legalization of marriage for everybody.

Same sex marriage is a joke. It's really just an argument to get homosexuality assimilated into the mainstream to the point that it's not morally wrong to be a fagaloso. Well, it IS morally wrong to be a fagaloso-- ain't no two ways about it.

Listen, marriage is NOT a license to "have sex." You don't actually need a license for that!

Marriage is "a social contract between a male and a female for the purpose of reproduction of the species." It is a reproductive contract, NOT a sexual one.

Men cannot reproduce with other men, women with women, men with ducks or sheep, nor women with ponies nor German Shepherds. Therefore biologically, scientifically, no actual "marriage" could ever take place between any of them!

If you want a "civil union" and you want your gay partner's pension plan, you want a state approved monogamous relationship certificate, hey, knock yourself out, you have my blessing. But "marriage," sorry, that's simply NOT biologically possible.......

Yes. We have abortion, and there is a lot more resistance to abortion than there is to gay marriage. It'll eventually happen.
