If I were to get an estimate on doing cosmetic repair to a 1985 21 ft motorhome, like new carpet, linolium (sp?) and a new celing, what would a fair estimate be on the cost of that?

That is an impossible question to answer without an on-site inspection.

Larry is right what do you want to use good stuff , materials are so different what color carpet what kind etc. i mean you can spend 500 or 5000

Take the cost of the materials and double the price, that is how most contractors do it.
