I have seen them alot of times at many different dollar stores

No, I keep my pennies in my grandfather's old candy jar. But piggy banks of the sort you have to break to open, have never been popular with me. Even as a kid, I'd always want to get the money out before there was enough to matter.

if you are having a casual affair, i would recommend you purchase them from a craft store - unfinished... then you and your guests could paint them and it would be a fun activity and a cherished momento as a baby shower gift as well. kind of like those "paint your own" ceramics shops where folks have parties and take home what they painted.

Hobby Lobby usually has them and their ceramics often go on sale for half price.

Walmart in the baby section. I have also seen them at Local craft stores here but am unsure of your craft stores where you live.

If you live anywhere near a hispanic community ...you can find them at small mom and pop stores or hispanic oriented supermarkets..(Not albertsons or Vons)

You can also try Ebay.

I found a clear glass one for a buck at Wal-Mart's dollar section, if that would be close enough for you.
