Yes, it's safe.
Every woman there will have some kind of a purse or bag for her wallet, keys, money, makeup, or what she chooses to put in it. Nobody there will take anything out of it. Just put it under your chair or table. This will keep it out of site, and nobody wil be stepping or tripping over it. If you feel really anxious about it, place it on the seat of your chair and throw your napkin over it. Then push the chair in under the table. No one will know it's there.
I've been to many weddings and nobody was ever robbed at one. The guests and attendants are all friends of the bride and/or groom, and their family. People wouldn't be there if they didn't trust them.

yess totally safe. id go for one of the ones with out straps adn you just kinda hold it. a clutch purse. they are classy, but at the same time cute. hope it helps ya
