YES...after 30+ years in education, we have had plenty of opportunities to rally around the cause. Some issues have been around unionization, higher pay, keeping a retirement plan, tutoring programs for kids, allowing migrant children to have access to education , changes in curriculum or instructional techniques, corruption in adminstration etc. Yes, it was always worth it. We may not have gotten everything we asked for, but we at least brought the issues to public light. Sometimes we got something tangible like a raise, new materials, new superintendent etc. As for energized... don't even talk to me about retirement, I plan at least another 15 years in special education . If you want to know a dozen ways to create a rally... well, that's another question and answer.
