Well, you have an ego. That's a start.

You either need to get Karakoe stuff and do your own vocals or find originals and do vocals for them. There are a lot of composers looking for singers.

In order to do a CD for other than a DEMO you need to have the rights to use the songs. That means you need to license them, write them youself or get them from composers who will let you record them and release them.

You need recording equipment or access to a studio or a producer with a studio.

You need a good microphone.

If you really believe in yourself, get a good mic.

Best out there is a U-47 Tube, cost $3,500 to $6,000 used Church conversions are quite good and will save you one tubes.
Another good mic is a C-12, cost $6,000 to $11,000 used.
Another good mic is a AT-4033, cost $350 to $600
Another good mic is a U-89 FET Cost is $1,200 to $2,000
There are a couple of older Chinese mics that sell for $800 to $1,000 that are quite good using 12AX7 tubes.
A 414 FET is also good, currently $450 to $550.
A U-87 FET is acceptable, cost between $1,000 and $1,500

There is nothing else out there for a girl but these. You also need a good mic stand, a power supply and a spit screen. A spit screen costs $50 or you can use a bent clothes hanger and panty hose.

Understand, all these mics have a "butterfly" wing diaprham. Gold plated 1/1,000th of an inch and one drop of spit ruins them, so does cigarette smoke.

Lock them away when you don't record.

Put a spit screen 4 or 6" from them to keep the spray away or you will ruin the mic.

If you can't afford this, go into a studio that has ONE of these and pay $20 to $50 an hour.

You will need converters from XLR to 1/8" to record on your computer.

You will need software like Cakewalk

If you believe in yourself, invest in yourself. It's that simple.

If not, find a producer.

But the producer HAS to have these things

An SM58 will not work for you.

Great for live gigs, great for hammering in nails.

Everyone knows a Telefunken U-47 Tube is the world's greatest female vocal mic.

OK

An M59 or M60 can do you, but it's in the same price range. Better off with a U47.

Remember, you can rent this out to studios for $200 a week or $400 a month.

Dont get a FET U47, it must be a TUBE. Original or Church conversion.

Any girl singer worth her salt has or knows someone with a U-47 TUBE or an AKG C-12 TUBE original (not re-issue).

Most of these mics were discotinued in the 1960s

The C-12 was discontinued in the 1970s

The 4033 was Discontinued only recently.

The 4033 is not bad. A little brittle, but not bad.

Every Girl singer you hear was done with a C-12 or U47 tube, although for the titles of Lizzie McGuire they used an RCA Ribbon mic, which is not bad, but more for saxes and horns.

Every credible singer uses a U-47 Tube one time in her lifetime.

The U-47 will pick up your gurrgles when you are hungry. It will hear them and record them.

Stand at least 6 to 12 inches from it.

Put a spit screen between you and it.

Mount it in rubberbands to keep it from shaking if you can.

You will hear the birds outside, the wind russling, the toilets flushing. That's how sensitive his mic is!

You need a good music track

You need to mix it with your voice qutie well.

That is why you need at least Cakewalk.

If you can afford it, get Pro Tools with the snake.

Now we are talking $8,000+

Are you worth it or are you just a cheap F---

You decide

You can SELL this stuff for what you paid or more in six months!

YOur demo better be perfect

You want to get signed, get with major management or have $200,000 in the bank to show the label otherwise get on your knees

That is show biz. I been in it for 30 years. I will not baby you.

This is reality. Learn to live with it.

I can carry a tune, yes. The best song of all is a LOVE song.

If you like to succeed commercially, it has to be a pop song 'bout lovers with a positive or happy message. If money doesn't matter to you, Love song about how man loves God - a religious song.

If you think you have a lovely voice, maybe you should try to audition to singing competitions where the judges have made a name in the recoding industry. You see you are going to need a record producer and good publisict for you to succeed on this. Good Luck!

I do sing, and love it , because God has blessed me with a lovely voice also, that I use for Him in my Church and at the Senior citizens home and where ever possible, but I`ve done nothing like cds yet. I do wish you the best, watch out for sharks in the music world, crooked promoters etc. Oh one of my oldfavorites is O`Happy Day, and I`ll always love, "He can work it out."

I love to sing its just that others do not love for me to sing! I am really into Allison Kraus right now and bluegrass like the Oh, Brother where art thou soundrack and some cool stuff like that. I heard a really cool old song on a movie called Crystal with Billy Bob Thornton a woman sings a song called Sugar Baby and it is cool. Check it out!

Yes, I can sing (though not as well as some people).
There's really no one "best song", there are many -they fit different moods & situations. I love the blues, but picked a classic crooner ("As Time Goes By") for my wedding song -it just fit the situation better than the blues did. You have to figure out what you want to say with your album & pick songs that lend themselves to both your voice & your message. Good luck!

Well does the music go like this its Anna Nalick: 'reason you can't leap the monitor,we're like automobiles on a cable And life's like an hourglass, glued to the table No you can find the rewind button girl, So cradle your head in your arms And breathe, simply breathe, Woah breathe, simply breathe If it goes like this its faith Hill: i will be able to think you breathe simply breathe In a way i know my coronary heart is waking up As all the partitions come tumbling down Iâ€&alternate;m nearer than I've ever felt before
