You can usually leave it with the Bell Desk, even after you check out. Then you can come back and pick it up when you're ready to go to the airport. Just be sure and let them know if something (like a laptop) is very fragile. Be nice and tip them when you leave and when you pick it up.

Most airports no long offer locker service. It seems they are afraid people might put a bomb in the locker and blow up the airport. However -- most hotels will store your luggage during the day if you have been an overnight guest. So you can spend the day touring the city, have dinner at a nice restaurant, go back to the hotel and pick up your luggage and then go to the airport.
Have fun on your trip!

They did away with having lockers at the airport; see if you can arrange with your hotel to leave your luggage with them (seeing as how you just stayed with them) to pick up later in the day. They usually will comply for a small fee ($1 a bag).

If your hotel doesn't allow you to leave your bags with them, try Union Station in downtown Chicago. They may only allow train travelers to use their services, but I used it about 3 years ago. It cost $1 per bag per hour. It's a small room located at the right edge of the great waiting room, just as you come down the stairs. Sorry I can't give better directions, but it'll make sense when you're there.

your hotel will let you leave your bags at the desk until you're ready to leave for your flight...try getting a later checkout time as well.

You may be able to check your luggage at your airline... Or the airport may have lockers, I think they do.
