I love rats! But I guess I love all animals. i just burried my last rat about a mmonth ago. We planted lilly's on the top of her gave. She died from an infection froma tooth abscess. I gave her antibiotics but she would not eat. I had to give her liquids through a syringe. But I have owned and bread rats for a long time. And no there wasn't any incest! They are so cool. My last one was a girl her name was peaches. She was a blue rat. My dad has a seal point dumbo eared rat. He is so cute! They are like little dogs. I would let mine ru n around the house (and no she didn't poop everywhere) She only did in her cage. If you would call for her she would come running to you! She preffered me over anyone else in my family. If I was sitting beside someone and they had her she would jump from their shoulder to mine (yes she loved to walk around your shoulders and neck) But I don't want another one for a while because they don't live very long(anywhere between 3-5 years) and I get attatched easily. SO I do love rats as pets I just hate it when they move on. I know they are in a better place and all, but the death is so sad! I treated all of my rats and animals as a member of the family...like one of my kids.....you know?

I love rats i have had them my whole adult life,,my rat just died on Easter this year and i miss him pretty bad..Rats are great pets, you can train them just like you do a dog or a cat and they will love you with all their heart,. I would let mine run lose in the house and all i would have to do is call him and he would come running,I'M planing on getting another one in the future but i need to heal from loosing my other one first..I highly recommend a rat for a pet..they are easy animals to have around...

I heard they're smart. I had pet hamsters and I can't say the same for them (they were awful cute though!) I never had a rat but I'd give it a try if I was desperately in need of a pet. Right now my 2 dogs are more than enough.

Although I don't have any pet rats at this moment, I agree they make wonderful pets. Intelligent and affectionate, and people get real freaky when you break out your awesome pet (unless they are 'in the know').

2 male rats make wonderful pets.
Rats are the only rodents that do not bite when they are kept as pets.
The only unfortumate thing about rats is that they live about up to three and a half years & no longer.

I used to have a rat. They actually aren't as bad as most people think they are. But then my mom had to be stupid and start feeding it meat, and then it ate my hamster. But other than that, their not bad pets. Not my first choice anymore, but far from my last choice.

I have owned all types of animals all my life, including exotics like skunks, an alligator..etc.
Rats are certainly very high on my list of great pets.
As you can see from my web page. ;^) Cuteness overload warning!
