I bought my son rattle socks made by Kids2Grow. They are colorfull little socks that have a rattle on the toes. The rattle is a puppy face on one and a kitty face on the other. He still loves these. He will lay on his back and pull his feet to his mouth. It helps develop the muscles in his legs, arms, neck, back, and stomache. It also helps the baby to focus on and follow objects with his eyes. I am on my 5th pair for him and would recommend them to anyone. Good luck and have fun with the new baby!!

The Move 'n' Crawl Ball by Vtech was a favorite with my little guy. It was great for when he started spending more time on his tummy. I truely think this toy is the reason he started crawling in the first place.

A toy like a mobile that hangs and has music and moves. At this age they are looking to parents and other people to provide entertainment in facial expressions, sounds and cuddles this is how they learn to talk and interact when they are older. It all starts now.

Swing, baby gym, bouncy seat, and rotate! Be sure to hold every feeding for security otherwise let them have at it! Toys they're not too interested in yet, swings that automatically make noise that are battery operated are the best! Get little mirrors too for the crib they love to look at themselves and try to figure out if its really them that they see!

Read to your child. They love to hear the sound of your voice!
Sing to your child.
Get a stimulation mobile-black white and red
V-tech makes a puppy that's black, white and red that plays classical tunes when your baby makes a noise. It has a switch on it for sleepy time and play time. His name is Muzzart. I got him at Walmart. I have used this same toy with all three of my children with them on the floor.

My father-in-law bought my one month old these little wrist rattles. They are like a bracelet with rattles in them. They come two in a pack. You put one on until they turn about three months and then use both. My daughter loves them. It helps them to focus and move their arms.

ANYTHING by baby einstein... kick/play gyms are great, esp if they are the "grow w/ me" type, baby can lay underneath them for lights and sounds, then sit in front of them and push buttons for cause and effect fun. my daughter loved this tiny baby sized rag doll from about 1 month on... and, her "lovie", a security blankie type, that she hangs onto for nitey nite

All the baby does is sleep, eat and poop. A rattle keeps their interest for two minutes maybe. Don't bother with toys yet.

I just use rattles and toys of any kind that have red black and white colors on them. those colors help your lil ones eyes to develop. Good luck.
