No. We haven't detected any asteroid that would slam on the Earth yet. We haven't yet developped the technology to deflect one if there was one detected.

Not yet, but we're coming close to doing so. Two successful missions have been completed to show it is quite possible.
First, there was the NEAR-Shoemaker probe's successful landing on the asteroid Eros. This feat was the first ever successful landing on an asteroid, and what made this even more amazing is that the NEAR probe wasn't designed as a lander. The probe successfully relayed information on the asteroids makeup after its landing.
The second mission was the Deep Impact probe. This mission sent an impactor bus that weighed 814 lbs(370 kg) into the heart of Comet Tempel 1 on July 3, 2005.
Thus, a workable 'deflector' could be in the works probably in the next 10 to 20 years. This may come in the nick of time, as astroid 99942 Apophis will come uncomfortably close by around 2029.

Have we ever deflected an astreoid succesfully? No! We tried but we were unsuccessful. As a result the astreoid hit the earth, killed billions of people along with billions of billions of animals and plants, and now we are living in a dream. Next time we will try ducking by moving earth a little to the left instead of trying to deflect.

No but if we did wouldn't it be on the news and printed in all the Astronomy Magazines? I'm sure it would. But anyway nope when an a Meteor comes in contact with earth that's a significant size. It would probably wipe us all out with Tidal Waves or Nuclear winter from the Impact.
Ps. Don't put your faith in Idiots Like Nasa. They Just downgrade Pluto so it's not considered a planet anymore.

Nope, never happened.
NASA released a statement a couple months back saying they would need 10 years notice to even try and attempt something.
So, the hollywood astroid just showing up randomly, yeah we'd be screwed over.

only in the movies.
There are theories that we might be able to deflect the path enough to miss the Earth, but...it hasn't been tried, yet.

No, but it is amazing that we landed a unmanned space craft on one. So we do have the technology to get there. Its all theories after that...

Nope. They're all theories.
We've never had to deflect an asteroid...at least not yet....let's hope we'll never have to.
