schizophrenic or someone with a mental illness? why or why not?

If they had the illness under control and weren't irrational. Why not, mental illness can be controlled and many fear it because they don't understand it.

Well, dating would be OK as long as you don't have to live with them. If you don't expect the realtionship to go anywhere, then it shouldn't be a problem just to date. However, if you are looking for a long term relationship, I wouldn't get involved with someone that is mentally ill.

Why? Because you will have nothing but trouble dealing with a mentally ill person. Mentally ill people commit suicide, mentally ill people kill other people, they require constant attention and maintanence. Safe yourself a lot of grief!

I wouldn't date a schizophrenic or anyone with that severe mental illness because they don't have a concept of reality. But someone with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, or any minor symptom like that, it doesn't matter to me.

I would - (within the same parameters as I apply to other people).

Why wouldn't I? It just takes a bit more effort when you have kids - but really, who cares?

Is there something I am missing? People with mental illness are more prevalent and more normal than you seem to think.

I would... because honestly, some people who have mental illness are the most beautiful in the world, from a mental standpoint...they may suffer from a slight efect in their brain, but that perception makes them so truly different from others...

I am married so the question is moot but if I were single and the person was on medication and had his illness under control I would date him if he was someone I was attracted to and interested in.

Yes and no. Depends on the person. I dated a girl with severe physical and mental problems and after a while, her depression and constant negativity got to me. I was not strong enough to stay the course, plus that's what I discovered I was gay! (smirk). thank god.

i will attempt this ... a million. whilst i became 15 I had basically somewhat a habit and no self-well worth, began relationship this guy named Jared who 5 years later shot some guy interior the face over $5 2. I met this somewhat "constructive" guy by my boyfriend Marc, no longer my husband Marc yet another one. We have been cruising around one night and he starts joking to three different guy and provides this guy my telephone variety. He did no longer easily think of the guy might dare call me. the two way this guy became a freak. He stated as me and instructed me he enjoyed me and wanted to marry me... He met me for 3 minutes... I had to alter my telephone variety. 3. I meant this guy sometime i think of i became sixteen in an attempt to get a mild. for the reason that then i stumbled on a reason to on no account smoke back... i presumed he appeared first rate gave him my variety, and the weirdo stalked me until i became 19. He tried shifting in my residing house, which I had him thrown out by using the ccops, stole my vehicle and wrecked it, accompanied around... It became a nightmare. He swore he enjoyed me and can replace. apparently he nonetheless follows my mom around and tries to connect family members gatherings. 4. I dated this guy who umm became pierced everywhere. That became a clean one...
