I find that people who are racist usually don't know anyone of that race, they simply believe the stereotypes they see and are content to remain ignorant.

Yes!
I think they are racist, because they are afraid , afraid that eventually, they will be shown up,
All races , need to get an education, Speak proper English and get the best job they can possibly get and try to excel in it. The only way up is by your own bootstraps and try, try, try!
This is what racist people are afraid of.Someone actually making something of themselves and eliminating them in the Job market, having a better car, a better house, a better life.
Oprah Winfrey has said it on more then one occasion, do not talk the ghetto Language if you do not want someone to be prejudiced against you. Shows lack of education!! Unfortunately uniformity is the only way to fit in, If others can not understand you, You will not get anywhere, in this world or life.

I feel that too many people use the term Racist as a crutch when confronted by a person of another color. When they them selves are racist.
Most people are not racist, but ignorance can breed racism if a good person is called a racist.
For example...I was called a racist when I was in the army, because I ordered a man of color to get a military hair cut. With good fortune, my First Sergeant and Executive Officer were both black and supported my order and sent the man to Human relations classes.

Fear! The only reason why racism exists. If more people took the time and interest in each other there would be less of it. If people were just more open mined we'd see that there is no difference between us and them. It should be just "US". I have recently moved to the south and see so much racisim, everyday! I wish i had an asnwer to the probelm? Maybe the next time you meet someone not like you, make the effort to say hello. When you hear it, say something. When you see it, Stop it. When you do it, look at yourself.

its not ignorance, although sometimes it is. Most of the time, its bad immigration laws. In the US, You have the illegal Mexican crossing the border and here in Canada, we have illegal Chinese. In both cases, you get hundreds of thousands of people moving to a city in a very short period of time. This creates a rapid loss of sense of community among those that were once already established. It's not racism. What it really is because those people are illegal, there are no services for them and the community is overstretched and tempers flare.
It takes the second generation for the communities to heal.

Yes I know some people that are racist. I also do not believe, as you do that most people are racist. From the sound of your writing, I would suggest that you lear to write correct English. If you talk that way, you might give them the idea of being a racist.
That is my answer from Washington, D.C.

Fear and ignorance is what makes someone racist. Sadly I do know many racist people. I live in small town Texas. Have you talked to your parents about the things that this teacher is saying? This is not right and I believe some one needs to bring it to the attention of the authorities.

I will agree with one thing. I don't care about the color of someones skin. I care about what they have in their heart and mind.
Your theory is flawed. We are not all the same. God specifically said he made us individuals each with our own gift to bring to the world. We are not even the same within our own families.
Your question on racist. Yes, we are all racist to a point. It is a human flaw that each of us must work to over come.

My dad is very racist. My mom is not. They both grew up in the same part of the country. they are both in their 70's so I wouldn't think it has to do with your age or where you were raised. I really don't know. Maybe low self esteem?
If your teacher is really saying that they should be fired! and that ain't no chit main!
