Cingular is by far the best....They have no roaming nationwide plans, the largest coverage areas and you dont have to be in a major city or close to a highway for it to work.I have worked for just about every phone company in my years as a tech and they are without a doubt the best.

Your main concern is minutes. This problem is the same for pretty much everyone out there except for Sprint. There fair and fleible plan would have your nights after 7pm so you get an extra ten hours of unlimited talking and overage is only about te cents a minute. If you had the sprint plan your overage charge would bhave only been about 40 instead of 400.
Sprints reception is not as good as Verizon's. Its not the worst out there. It still has national reception with towers in 98 of the top 100 cites.

Plz do not fall for the ETF (early termination fee) , complain as many times as it takes to verizon 'till they waive the ETF and let's you port out to another carrier (keep ur nr) . On the other hand plz do ur research because I know that "Cingular " will terminate your contract automaticly if u use their phn more than 3 mos out of ur home area---this is a new policy . With verizon you should be able to change your prica plane to no roaming plan which cover all over that states without extra fees .
**** plz go to a store where they can explain in detail each carrier what they have ****
Good luck :)

I am not employed (in any way) by a phone company ... but seriously, when you purchase a cell phone contract - you should have a good idea of what you need (minutes, insurance, roaming, etc) and buy what you need. To blame THEM for YOUR shortcomings (and overages) is not productive. I am not saying that Verizon is better or worse than anyone else ... I am just saying that you will have similar problems with ANY carrier if you require services that exceed those in your contract, unless you are willing to pay for them.

I have been on Tmobil and currently on verison, I pay for three phones, me, my hubby and one daughter, we share 700 minutes, but can call eachother or any other verison for free. I liked both, the pain in the butt is going over minutes, so just keep in the minutes, or get a larger package. it is all pretty much the plan that can make the service suck or be good. I liked both, I actually changed from tmobil from about 5 years of service because my son in the army was on verison. he changed back to tmobile and has two plans because of the huge cancellation fees. bummer.

So.. you went over your minutes, which meant YOU didn't pick the right plan. That's how all cell carriers stay in business. And, you broke or lost your phone, and tried to buy insurance after the fact, rather then paying month to month insurance like you should. I don't see how any of this is Verizon's fault. Sounds like this would have happened on any carrier...

I love Cingular. My parents live in a whole different state and we drive there every month and it works there perfectly.
