I have an oscar. The holes are actual indentions in the skin. They look painful. I need to know what this is caused from and how to treat it because they keep showing up all over his body and it's getting worse. I know what ick is, so it's not that and they are not blisters. They are actual round indentions in his skin. I'm thinking it may be "hole in the head disease". Except that they are all over his body, not just his head.

If so, even if its all over his body, its hole in the head disease.

Unfortunatly I think the better and more effective treatments for this disease require perscription and therefore a vet visit....
Sorry... its a rare disease but when it happens, its almost always to oscars and other large cichilids. It occurs most commonly on the head area but can spread, so just because its other places doesnt mean its not this disease. Hopefully he'll pull through, you might be able to fix the problem with water and diet changes. Read the sites and try your best to help him out, good luck

It sounds like hole in the head disease. This is a fungal infection that can occur all over the body. It is treatable.

hole in the head can actually occur to the whole body, along the lateral line. books say this is caused by malnutrition(sometimes lack of vitamins). if i was u, i would buy multivitamins from the pet store BEFORE the fungicide,

goto the pet store and get some anti-biotic for the water and treat the water every time you change the water till he starts looking better and keep the anti-biaotic on hand for outbreaks

do not use after a few day after he looks cured only use when it seems he has something and 2 days after for good measure
good luck
