Will Matsui take over left field? Will Cabrera be a bench player? Will Matsui be a DH? Will Cabrera go back to Columbus? What's going to happen to the Melkman???

They WILL NOT get rid of the Melky (Way) Cabrera because if it wasn't for him helping out besides Miguel Cairo then the Yanks will not be in playoff contigency. Eventually, Godzilla will be a DH to get his swing back and eventually be back in the starting lineup for the LF. If Cabrera starts getting in a slump or making a lot of errors then he might go back to the minors. Hopefully he will continue on his hitting ways and eventually be going to his first trip to the World Series.

Assuming Matsui comes back the first week of September, he'll DH and pinch hit for at least two weeks while Melky plays left which will take you to mid-September. It's Joe's call then but I think he'll probably do a platoon-DH thing with them (whoever's in left, the other will DH). Expect to see Giambi playing first down the stretch.

Torre says Melky will get enough at bats. He will spot him in the field on a regular basis. Sounds like he intends on giving the regulars some more days off. Matsui doesn't need to play everyday now that his streak is over (my opinion). He is NOT going back to the minors.

Im very sad to beleive this, but i think we will be trading him for a starting pitcher. Hopefully we include Jared Wright in that trade. Luckily we already dropped Ponson yesterday, and with one more good starter we can do better than beating Boston for the last 9 out of 10, we'll win em all- lol
I hope im wrong and we keep him and rotate the outfield so if someone gets hurt, the way we lost Sheffield and Matsui, we have back up.
I also hope we train Sheffield for 1st base, instead of Mr. Wilson

When Matsui comes back 100% then Cabrera will ride the bench. That is yankee tradition, just like Bernie Williams does. Yankees are so nasty that Bernie Williams on the Yankee bench is better than most other clutch hitters on most of the other teams

Would like to see Melky stay, period..but Matsui will be the lead. Melky has the stuff to do great things, hope he can stay with the Yankees, but for now, Matsui has the experience. Wanting to see "em both!! Hey Mr. S., we want it all!!!

I think melky will play the rest of the year in the majors because there are no minors for matsui to rehab
then i think melky will spend next year in AAA then come up in '08 when abreu's contract expires unless abreu has an awesome power breakout
this is all barring injuries to yank outfielders then he would come up

they will find some place to put him. i think they might put matsuti a dh when he first comes back and then they will put him out in the left field but cabrera is too good of a player for them to bench they might put him as the DH neve No whats gonna happen till matsui comes back. i heard he's comming back in september.they wiil find a place for melky to play.

Unfortunately we will probably bench Melky in favor of Hidecki. Melky has shown how good he is and Torre will probably work him into the lineup as much as he can giving the other outfielders a day off. He is too valuable to the Yankees to trade.

oh man, im a huge yankees fan and idk cause like matsui has power and a good feilder, but like melky has proven that even though he is young, he can still be there for his team. i think they will do the thing they do sometimes with damon and bernie. i mean matsui will play most of the time and melky will play sometimes. LOL it will suck 4 him cause matsui hasnt missed a game in like 10 yrs(until now)
