No, multi-tasking often requires that you be the master of at least one if not more trades, but be able to perform other tasks simultaneously. For example, one might be a masterful lawyer who is required to write briefs, read case law, prepare oral arguments, and speak with clients all at the same time. It can be tought to keep track of everything at once. That's why a good multi-tasker is a sought after commodity in the work force.

Multi-tasking has been around for centuries.
It is the end-result that is important.

In today's marketplace it still is the end-result.
Jobs are done to fast (quantity) without quality
will have to be done again. More multi-tasking
and less quantity, and .....etc.

To me Multi tasking is changing the baby on top of the dryer while you are putting clothe in the washer and while the other kids are watching cartoons.

I would define It simply as having the skill to adequately perform more than one task at a time.
