Talk with your doctor more, but your body can make another plug.

Braxton hicks started for me at 6 month and itw as my first baby, she was born at 40 weeks and one day.

First off, I want to mention that you should not be checking yourself or having anyone but a doctor check you. You risk damaging your cervix, not to mention that if you have lost your mucus plug, you could get an infection from the bacteria on your hands... one of the reasons doctors wear gloves when they check you. Secondly, if you are on your 6th child, you should know the signs of labor by now and should be able to tell early enough to get to the hospital in time. However, if you start having labor pains and you don't feel that you have time to make it to the hospital, call for an ambulance, even if that baby starts to come before you make it, at least you'll be in the hands of trained professionals. I really wouldn't stress about it though, you've obviously done this before, I'm sure you can do it again!

To Blondie, it is not in any respect common to unfastened your mucus plug at 23weeks (your point) and it does not regenerate itself, it potential that your cervix is dialating. it would take weeks to progression into labour, yet having suggested that it would possibly no longer. you may call your well being care service and tell them what you have instructed us. for the reason which you're 33 weeks then it somewhat is attainable that labour is on it somewhat is way quickly. sturdy luck. x

There's no way to tell how much you've dilated at home, unless your hubby now's how to tell and checks you. If you always have premature babies, I would start for the hospital at the soonest sign of labor. It sounds like it was your plug to me, but that doesn't mean that you've started labor. It still could be a couple weeks away.

Dilation will not tell you when the baby is coming. Watch instead for emotional sign posts, confusion, hot/cold flashes, grunting, sudden thought that you can not do this. Remember transition from previous pregnancies. Follow your gut.

well go to the hospital and well obviously if you're more than 4cm then your in active labor but you have to be at least 35wks to be in labor so you should try to be like on bed rest cause i'm almost 40wks and it was about 4wks ago i started discharging and the doc told me that my body was preparing for labor.

Your fingers account for one centimeter, so if you wanted you could check yourself, if you are that agile. If not, your husband or an extremely close friend can do it. You know though, if you are really in doubt though, I would just go to the hospital. Good luck!!

I'd be worried too!
I think I would camp out in the hospital parking lot.
