The loud "coffie can" mufflers do NOT make them go faster, they are just a shiny noise maker.
However, performance exaust systems do increase performance and power in horsepower, torque, as well as fuel efficency. A good free flowing system will make some dramatic differences.

It allows more air into the car so that it will go faster. My custom exhaust hasn't hurt my car yet, and it gave me added back pressure which helps on my starts.

Yesthey are helpfull..stock is VERY restricting..lets no air flow through..and it builds up and decreases performance..

i have a cold air intake on my import..along with a flowmaster to help the airflow.. big upgrade from stock!
