i have a friend whom just told me that she had a hard knot on her bottom left foot, right in the center of the foot, shes had it for a long time. she says it hurts a little when she presses on it, does anyone know what it could be.

My first guess would be a plantar wart, but it's hard to diagnose online

It is also possible that this is a neuroma. Which is literally a tumor. Non malignant. Can be removed with surgery. Should be checked first by her general Dr who will refer her to a podiatrist if appropriate.

Twisted muscle could be a possibilty, or she stretched it too far and the muscles got worn. If it has been going on for more then a day, go to a doctor, it could be serious.

Sounds like a planters wart, which isn't as bad as it sounds. My daughter had one, and hers was just like you described yours. It would be a good idea for you to let your family dr. look at it.
