You didn't mention that nasal tone of voice. Good question. I don't think its an unfair stereotype.
Its quite possible that out of the heterosexual population, less than 5% speak with a lisp and nasal tone. While in the gay population (men) More than 20% speak with the lisp and nasal tone.
We're still wondering why.

not all gay men have a lisp. That is a stereotype perpetuated by a society that feels the need to place people in boxes and mark them forever with character stickers.

Dude, you're just noticing the ones that do have lisp... You don't know about all the others around you that sound, look, and act totally straight... and You wouldn't know they were gay unless they told you or you saw them out at a bar!

You watch too many old movies. That's an invalid stereotype. I am gay and know a LOT Of gay guys, and I can't tell you when was the last time I met a gay guy with a lisp.
A few high school wresting coaches, yes.

Most gay men don't have lisps. Most men with lisps are straight. It's a false stereotype.

I wonder how you got every single gay man in the world to tell you that they lisp? You must be a very powerfully persuasive person. The government could use you. Call your congress person today!

Irony Of Poe,
I am SORRY!
I've noticed the same thing. I'm thinking that it might be regional, or many have not put the two together. But I'm sure that you are not merely placing a stereotype! It's just too plain to hear and too common.
I'm in Southern California. I've noticed the same thing in San Francisco. But maybe they don't do that in say, Idaho. I've never been there. So how would I know?
