A question about Final Fantasy ten?

I've finished Finaly Fantasy 10 but when I started a new game I had lvl 1 points. I thought you started a new game with everything from the first play through. I got the special ending as well if that counts for anything.

no it dosnt carry over

Brand new game = Brand new game. Try Everquest (not the full online version) or Baulder's Gate for RPG's that will carry over characters with their abilities.
