SSI is very difficult to get. Don't give up I have been told regardless of the situation or the need, they typically give everyone a hard time and usually deny the applications the first and second time. Don't stop, keep going! Supply all the required information, and she will get it. They go back with payments from the time the application was originally filed, so you will get a nice lump sum check, then regular payments there after. Any minor children are also eligible, be sure to apply for them also! My mother is on SSI, and it was a headache at first, but well worth it. Hang in there, and God Bless Your family!

SSI hates giving out money period. Get a really good lawyer that specializes in this quick. And talk to several before you pick one. It is okay and you do have a right to shop around. SSI is run by a bunch of jerks. It takes a judge and the court to make them pay much of the time. May god bless you and your wife. I do hope things get better. By the way, it is retro back to the day you applied the first time.

Keep applying. I had a client who got SSI for acute alcoholism, so your wife's broken back certainly should qualify. But you never know when dealing with the gov't. One thing they will want to know is if she can do anykind of work at all?

But, like I said, keep applying, and be sure to comply with all of their instructions and demands, no matter how moronic they may seem. Good luck.

Be sure to put down every single thing that your wife cannot do. Everything! No matter how stupid it sounds. EVERYTHING! Find you a GOOD Lawyer. Checkout more than 1 or 2. Keep fighting it. I will put you and her on our prayer list. God has not forsaken ya'll. Thank him it's already in HIS hands.
