This is more of a statement than a question. Just been watching Serenity on DVD and still find it as engrossing as the first time I watched it. The Firefly MUST return! It is such a great concept and such a great show, I am truly in love with those characters and that universe.
I am unwilling to accept that it is all over. I know major characters are gone (have been killed off) but I just have a medical addiction to that show and need more of it.
Am I crazy? Am I the only one who feels like this? To anyone who hasn't seen it and thinks I am, in fact, crazy, watch it, you will not regret the decision I promise.
If there is anyone out there who is part of the creators inner circle, please contact me and put my mind at ease. To say that Firefly is a good show and Serenity a good film, I feel, is an understatement and deserves to continue having it's story told.
Thank you all for your time.

Difficulut a time I had when "Firefly" was on TV, I was sad to see it go just when I had the time to follow it. I think it's cancellation was deliberate--done much like the original Star Trek.

And I suspect you may be on to something here: Isn't it odd a cancelled sci-fi TV show two years later has a full big budget movie made of it???

Firefly deserves it's niche in sci-fi conventions--and don't think it's the last box office "Serenity" film yet; more are certain to come. However, doubts exist TV network heads will bring the series back.....but again, anythiing ( I guess ) is possible.

No, you're not crazy. If you are then there are a fair number of us worldwide who share the self-same craziness.

I don't think there is much chance of "Firefly" being resurrected as a TV show (but never say never) as when Fox cancelled it, Joss Whedon tried to find a new home for it, was failing miserably and then Universal agreed to make "SERENITY". My hope is that Universal will do the right thing and greenlight the sequels (all the cast signed a standard 3 film agreement), so in the end, the least we'll have is a Big Damn Trilogy.

YES! The show will live on forever in the hearts of fans everywhere, but the story deserves to go on. I have not seen such great writing and imaginative storylines in a sci-fi show in a very long time. This was one show that didn't have to rely on wacky costumes or cheesy sound effects, it had actual character development and plot!

I disagree with the political theory. I am very conservative and I saw it as being against the liberal "big government" mentality... I guess you get out of it what you put in! I am all for personal responsibility, and I never blindly vote for one candidate or party "just because." I have a brain and I believe in using it ;-)

I had heard from someone that Fox might bring back Firefly. I am not entirely sure but it could be possible. They canceled Family Guy and brought that back.

I saw the movie first and now have been watching the series on i Tunes video. It was a great show, which is probably why Fox canceled it. They keep the bad shows and cancel the good ones.

Sorry I wasn't more helpful.

I think that Fox TV might have felt that it was being watched by too many intelligent people, who then went out and started questioning their very own puppet theatre to the somnambulent public.

Firefly was entering some dangerous political ground. People who watched it were the kind who already questioned authority's right to mess with the lives of individuals and erode freedoms "for reasons of homeland security"; but this was worse.

Firefly was making converts out of the suckers who are the meat and drink of Fox TV; the kind of people who just sit and suck up the propaganda and then go out and vote Bush as directed.

Like Crusade, Firefly was starting to make people question. And that potentially could have threatened the audience figures. Or at least, it could have weakened their authoritaaah.

So they shot the messenger, before the subliminal political message behind Firefly could take root.

Either that, or Fox TV wanted Buffy In Space and Joss Whedon thumbed his nose at them and did his own thing.

I'm feeling now its been hailed as the best film and TV series in the sci fi world that maybe they'll do more episodes.
There are plans for another film.

I would say Firefly would most definitely have to be resurrected. It's a great show and I would love to see more seasons of it.
