Endurance. When I am lacking in courage, endurance will save me. Just being able to get through something, no matter how, will work every time. Sometimes, you just don't know how to solve stuff, but if you can just hang in there, and endure it - stay with it - not quit, not give up, not jump out the window, you will come out on top of whatever it is, every time. Endurance.One of those famous guys who conquered the North Pole (I think it was) had a family motto that read "By endurance we conquer." And when I saw that I cried. Because I could think back on my own life and remember how often I had absolutely nothing left inside myself to give or to bring to a situation and that just sticking with it, and keeping going - enduring it - got me through it. Now, in your language, the quality of endurance may not seem very cool, but to me being cool means being totally in control of yourself in any possible circumstance you can find yourself. They could airlift you to a foreign land and drop you by parachute and you would be able to do it okay. Now I realize that sounds a bit "out there," but military training teaches you this, I know, even though I have not been in the service (because I have one kidney). In closing, I would say the coolest thing to come into my life, ever, is knowing that I can handle anything that comes at me if I can just endure it. Too corny? Well, the most profound things in life are often corny because they are all so obvious. Dealing with them, however, is quite another matter and that's is where the endurance thing comes in.
