Oh, honey, stop, stop, stop! First of all, yes you can have a y.infection with a white discharge and it usually doesn't hurt when you go to the bathroom. Yeast infections just cause itchy redness down there, and sometimes an odor that's different from your natural scent.

DON'T DOUCHE! I don't know why they still sell that. Any gynecologist will tell you that douching is wrong. That is not going to cure anything up there. Women do not need to be washing way inside. Nature takes care of itself. However, if you've got something going in there (like an infection) then insert a cream like Monistat.
But, before you even do that go see a gynecologist. It sounds like you really don't know what you've got, so that's your best option.

Have you ever been diagnosed with a yeast infection? If not then you wouldnt know your own typical symptoms.
Douching is not smart. I dont think it is smart even with out a suspected infection. Douching washes away the "good" bacteria that maintains vaginal health, thus could make a yeast infection (an overgrowth of fungus) worse. Hope this helped!

Douching really isn't a good idea ever, it messes up the Ph balance down there. Yeast infections are the result of not having enough of the right kind of bacteria (there's good and bad)

eat alot of yogurt, try to avoid the kinds with too much sugar, as that can sometimes be the problem. If it's *bothering* you (itching) you can get **PLAIN** yogurt and put it on a tampon.... Acidophilus is what you're after. You can also buy this in pill form, it's with vitamins and stuff.

Also, many people swear by the Over-the-counter cures.

Hello, I'm on the second week and seeing definite improvement on my yeast infection symptoms:

Note that: If the yeast infection doesn't respond to over the counter treatment, prescription medication will likely be necessary. Similarly, if the symptoms return after two months of being treated, you should contact the doctor for professional treatment rather than resorting again to home treatment.

If this is the first time you have experienced a yeast infection, you should schedule an appointment to have the condition treated by a doctor instead of resorting to home treatment
