To be honest it depends on what state you live in. I know in Ohio you have to have a liscense. But I'm not sure about in any other state. I do know that some states allow it though. My grandma had a chimp once. Most of the people that I have known had spider monkeys (capuchin monkeys). But I think that those kinds of animals shouldn't be kept as pets. They should be in the wild in the jungle where they belong. I know they are cute and the thought of owning one is cool. But I just think that would be torture to have one in captivity. I know that most people that get them end up getting rid of them because they don't realise how much work they are. They need lots of space and trees...things to play on....the right foods....they need to be seen by a vet and they are expensive to take care of. So my advice would be not to get one. They are happier in the jungle.

Absolutely. In Australia, it is even legal to own a pygmy for a pet. Just feed it accordingly.

Monkeys are an exotic animal.And therefore you have to have a license to own one.Same with tigers,lions,white tailed deer,etc.If you don't have one you can go to jail or have to pay a fine.

I don't know, if it is well behaved enough it should be allowed with testing or always if it is inside your house. But if it escapes...

yes i love monkeys there sooooooooooooo cool i want one i wish my mom would let me that would be soooooooooooooo cool!!!!!! o you mite wont to put a dipper on it or potty train it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
