hell overyone. I was just wondering who has there ears guaged and what process did you use? beside obkects from home like pens and toothpicks. Say you have a 16g now? do u buy a 14g piece of jewelry and stick in in there or what? and do your lobes go back to a 18g (what hole you originally started out with)? how long did it take for you to go back to looking normal?
I am thinkin about gaugin my ears small. to only 14g or possibly a 12.
Thanks in advance =)

12 gauge is is not a very big size, so you shouldn't have anything to worry about.
I was at an 18g, then I went to a 00g, then I took them out and shrunk down to a 4 g. If stretching is done properly, I've seen people at 00 gauge shrink back down to a 16 gauge no problem. (This including the fact that they had no tearing though and never skipped any gauges.)
Here's some tips...
•Always give 2 weeks MINIMUM in between stretches.
Ideally a month or two is best.
•Never skip a gauge. This is the worst thing you can do. If you try to stretch it, and it wont go.
•Don't force it. You'll tear the ear and it may never heal properly.
•When stretching keep your ears well lubricated.Polysporin is a good idea.
•I like using metal tapers, but a set is very costly.
The best thing to do in your case is work down the 6 gauges slowly, and be careful not to tear your ear. I would do it with regular Cbrs or circular barbells ( which are easier to change by yourself)
The sizes that you need to work down from are 16(where you are now)14,and your final piece of 12 gauge.
Unfortunately with the smaller gauges, they don't really sell cheap acrylic plugs, and stetchers untill you get to 10 gauge.
Your probably going to get stuck with buying cbrs and possibly if you can find any some surgical stainless steel plugs with rubber o's on them. For the initial stretch, I'd use something that will allow for the swelling though. ( not that you'll have very much, there is only slight swelling in most people in the smaller gauges, ist 14 to 10 that you'll start to feel it)
If you go to a piercing studio, and buy the jewlery there they can do the stretch for you with proper metal tapers usuially free of charge. ( because you bought the jewlery there). Its always best to get a piercer to stretch for you, because they know when your ears are ready to stretch. They wont force them.

Well, I don't really see you having any problems getting your ears to a 14 or 12. That's not a very big stretch. When I stretched my ears, I went from an 18 (which I'm guessing is standard for a regular ear piercing) to a 10. From there I went to a 6 and then a 4 and then a 2. You just have to do it gradually. After I took my plugs out, it took about a week or two to shrink down as far as they would go. They didn't shrink down completely though, which is the primary reason I kind of regret doing it. I would say it's at about a 12 right now and won't shrink down any more. Since you are only gonna go to a most a 12, then I would say do it. That's not big at all, and I'm positive your ears would go back to their original size. And you can buy gauges at Hot Topic. They look like little spikes.

rxqueen♥ † is pretty much right on. I'm currently at a 00, but I've never tried to shrink back down so I don't know about that personally, though I do know 0/00 is generally the point of no return. 14-12 you'll be fine.
Why would you use toothpicks? SPLINTERS! Now, I've used objects that aren't actually jewelry to stretch too, but don't use anything that can give you splinters.

i'm up to an 8g. i just did it buy buying larger jewelry, 1 g at a time, and forcing it through the hole. and no. it wont' go back to normal. so you're stuck with big holes in your ears for the rest of your life. however, i do believe that you can get corrective surgery later to close up the holes later in life if you so desire.
