i would consider myself lucky since i'd be i.m. ing him instead of tlking to him on the phone. that could be more embarrassing! at least u have time to think it over and then submit ur words before he hears them.
but as far as cool things to say, just be simple and don't speak to much. he needs to do the talkin more. less is more. also, just show ur interested and be cute with emoticons and stuff. show ur personality thru that computer and be playful.
