I've always felt free here in the U.S.A. and I still feel so, more than a half century later. And with that experience, I don't see things changing for me. God Bless you.

The leaders of the US know the freer the society gets, the more dangerous the great beast becomes and the more you have to be careful to cage it somehow. I think they are doing a good job at caging it, USA PATRIOT Act, daily fascist tactics of local police, psychological warfare such as "terror alerts", disregard for the rule of law, all this leads to less freedom and many in the US have willingly given up thier freedoms for supposed security (a joke).

So I feel less free, but in that I am resisting the forces that are trying to take my freedom and that is where I agree with the saying "live free or die", that is the America I love, but so many here have forgotten, never knew or have sold out and hate (due to right wing talk radio addicitons).

I feel free to an extent. I can work where I want, date who I want, get in my car and drive where I want. BUT it's the civil liberties that are being taken away i.e, gay marriage (I'm not gay), smoking ordinances, political pressure, social pressure, economic barriers, the list can go on and on. It is still the best in the world though in some aspects. Other countries do have nicer things and lifestyles than us, but other countries are far worse and dangerous.

I feel more free here than I would in at least 90% of all the other countries.

I feel free. No one is stopping me from doing anything I want.

I try to get away with as much as possible in order to feel 'free'.
