my grandparents immigrated to canada when they're around 60 or so, and they've lived here for 11 years, and you should think people living in a different country for that long period of time should be able to pick up a new language.

The language area in their brains may not be receptive to learning an entire new language, but they should be able to learn phrases and necessary survival vocabulary.

you didnt say where in canada most people in canada speak english except Quebec then french. yes when you get older its harder to learn the language. i go to europe for travel and most business people speak english. i think with in one more generation everybody in the world will speak english

With great difficulty. If they are linguist it would be easier. I'm 60 myself, I still learn, but language, no.

Yes they could but it would be harder to learn. I think the younger the better. I can't learn another one have tried many times.
