When a NASCAR gives the length of a speedway track where is it measured? The inside, middle or outside? I was asking because the track at Bristol looks more then .533 miles

The measure the track length from the point 15 feet from the outside wall. In actuality, the actual race winner probably travels less than the advertised distance, but the difference is minimal.

Most tracks are measured about 10 feet from the outside wall.

I believe that asphalt tracks are measured at the wall (outside) and dirt tracks are measured on the inside. Watch the race Sat. night with 42 cars on the track. They will cover half the track with all the cars. That gives it better perspective

depends, i think they measure the racing line, cause say at talladega or daytona if u run the high side in all 4 turns, ure really putting on the miles
