Well...if that is all you have...then it would be very hard. Universities like to know that you have improved...if you show a major improvement this year it will look fantastic no matter what your GPA turns out to be. You should also make sure you have other things to rely on, such as: really good SAT or ACT scores, leadership positions in a club at school, volunteering hours, any sports, any hobbies....just make sure to put something on your application that you are very passionate about, and not just for the past months, but for years. Good luck!

It's not too late. All you have to do is sign up for as many AP classes as you can now. Get A's in all your classes including the AP's. Kick butt on your SAT's. Sign up for a lot of AP classes again senior year and on your college applications write an essay explaining what sort of problems you had during high school that made your freshman and sophomore grades slip. Also be sure to stick with an extracurricular that you love and show to the school that you love it. As in, if you like tutoring kids, start a tutor program at your local elementary school and try to win awards. There's a whole awards section on college apps and that's usually the section that most people don't have anything to fill in.

Kick butt on the SAT. Your junior year is the most important, so focus on getting A/A-/B+. Your options would be limited, afterall this is the age of the inflated GPAs. Even if you had to go to a JC, that is not the worst thing. Then you could transfer to a UC. If you figured out the problem, then you're halfway there. Good luck!

Focus on the tests and getting your grades up this year. It's the most important. Also do community service and join groups. Schools like it when students are involved. If you dont get in right away, transfering is an easier option.

It is not to late to try and take some college classes while you are in Highschool and then while you are in Highschool you can look for schorships to college that will help you pay a big amout of the fees in college.

Talk to the counlser first

Maybe not, I've heard that colleges care most about the Junior and Senior grades. Get good grades!
