No. They are both gay memiorists who have a way of making the unpleasant amusing, but that is where the similarities end. Their themes are completely different, Sederis always telling stories about things that happened TO him, Burroughs about his role in his own life.
Sederis is funny haha, Burroughs is funny ouch.

Definitely not. I actually prefer Augusten Burroughs to David Sedaris; although I enjoy them both. Burroughs is a little darker a little grittier. I would say that Augusten Burrough is urban to David Sedaris' suburban.
