How long does this essay have to be? (And when was it assigned? Today? And why? Could something have teed your teacher off? I wonder what!) Anyway, think of some alternatives to speaking out, or to speaking at all. One might be to think what you'd LIKE to say and privately write it instead. Another, when someone talks to you first, would be to put a finger to your lips and point to the front of the room. Another could be to imagine yourself in the position of the person who has the floor and remind yourself that YOU wouldn't want others to talk when they should be paying attention to you. If your essay is supposed to be several paragraphs, or at least 300 words, you should be able to get a body paragraph out of each of these, especially if you can imagine a specific example or two of each. As for the introduction, begin by saying that the temptation to speak is often a strong one but that to give in to it can be inappropriate in many situations. You might mention why it can be inappropriate or even dangerous. Then as your thesis say that there are some alternatives to speaking and ways to avoid doing so. PUT ALL OF THIS IN YOUR OWN WORDS! Then atter you've discussed each alternative or technique, pull it all together in a short concluding paragraph that sums up the points you've made. You could end by taking the suggestion of some previous answerers--when all else fails, use duct tape.

Make a list of what you would want your school to be like. Then put them in paragraphs describing each one, explaining why that would be your ideal school. Good luck in the competition.

There is a book called "Emile" written by Jean-Jacques Rousseau that describes the ideal school or teaching situation. There is only one student and the teacher helps the child to learn how to think for himself, free of societies prejudices, using nature as a guiding/learning force.

No one can really answer this besides you. What is your ideal school like? 1st put those ideals down and paper and then explain why you feel the way you do.
