Okay, I got two baby hamsters and like they are Brother and sister, I just now found out they were a boy and a girl, I got them when they were babies, and like I don't want to get rid or separate them until I REALLY HAVE TOO. Is it okay if brother and sister have babies, or will the babies be messed up?...Please No rude Remark

P.S. I am planning on separating them AFTER they have one litter of babies...They might not even have babies...they are NEVER together.

I wouldn't think about allowing them to breed. That's asking for various medical problems down the road. Plus, once the children grow older, they might even breed, creating an even more fertile environment for medical mishaps.

r they syrian? if so they begin fighting around 3 months. they should be separated by 1 mth so they dont have babies but u want them so that doesnt apply. although there are plenty of homeless hamsters and i dont see why u would want to create more. they will all have to have separate cages and they can have up to 20 babies in a litter. do u have homes for that many babies? also often there are problems with first litters and even cannibalization---r u prepared for that? it's not a god idea to breed brother & sister anyway---health problems could arise. i hope u choose top separate them & that she isnt already pregnant.

u mention in another post they r dwarfs---they can get pregnant 24 hrs after having babies---risky for the mom's health & probably not enough milk for the babies so keep that in mind.

No, it's not a good idea, the babies can come out messed up. And if they hamsters are allowed to mate as soon as they are physically able to, they won't be old enough to make good parents, and will most likely eat the young. Gross. Hamsters are solitary animals by nature, and won't be unhappy alone, so I would definately recommend separating them!
Hope that helps!

If you have a boy and girl together they WILL have babies so be ready for that! You can to whatever you want, they are your hamsters.
