Your body rejected the piercing. This happens when your body pushes the piercing out because it basically dosent want it there any more.
Stop using peroxide. Its too harsh.
Just use a good quality tea tree oil soap.
When clients come into the shop with rejected piercings its quite often because they changed the jewlery too early, played with it durring the healing process, or it got ripped a bit durring sports.
If you want to get it re-pierced,The best thing is not to wait wait a few months, it depends on your scar tissue.
Once a piercing has rejected, the skin is damaged, and the scar tissue is weak. It sometimes is unable to support a piercing properly. If you get pierced through this skin right away, there is a very high risk of rejection. ( although some people have no problem, the risk is there)
A good idea is to wait untill the piercing hole is healed, and then start to put vitamin e oil on the area. Some people say that that helps speed up the process of scar tissue regeneration.
Why did this happen? There could of been so many reasons.
How were you taking care of your piercing? Were you rotating it when you cleaned it? I never tell people to do this, it can cause rejection. The best way to clean a piercing is sea salt soaks. ( and no rotation.) When you rotate a piercing you are forcing crust back inside the fistula ( skin tube). This scratches the inside of the fistula and can cause rejection. Not in everybody, but I've seen many situations.

The technician didn't use enough skin to pierce the hole. I've had my belly button piercing for 4 years. My skin did become thinner as the piercing healed and the swellilng went down. But it's not normal for the bar to visible.
You did the right thing by taking it out before it healed completly. If you hadn't you would have risked the skin being too weak and it would have eventually torn. I suggest that you go back to the establishment and show them what happened. And demand a refund.

Just wait until your older so you don't need her permission. You say you are very mature, so going behind her back and doing it sounds like it would be against what you are truly like. Are you paying for this piercing yourself? I have had mine pierced for a month now, and so far have had no trouble. There is always the chance of infections, rejection and all that "scary" stuff with every piercing you get, but as long as you take care of it i.e clean it daily, do sea salt soaks at least twice a day, you should be fine. Mine was bruised for a week, but now looks great. I say just wait it out though! Respect your mothers wishes for the time being :)

Your body rejected the metal in the piercing. It happens.
You may have been pierced to high or not deep enough under the skin.
Did you ever go back to the piercer and find out if they messed up?
They may re-do it for free.
A belly button piercing can take up to 9 months to heal.

There was probably too much tension on the piercing, so the skin got stretched and stretched until it stretched through. I think you should let it heal fully (until it becomes normal again, similar to before you had it pierced) and then get it re-done if you want it to. You should make sure the place you get it done at is official, and that they clean their tools or use sterile ones when they pierce you.

You are probably like me and can't take piercings. I tried having my ears pierced a long time ago and they never healed in spite of my careful regime of cleaning. I finally had to let them heal and can't wear pierced earrings. I'm also allergic to nickel. A lot of fashion jewelry that's gold has nickel in it and it gives me a rash.

It sounds like you went to a crappy piercer. He didn't go deep enough so your body could reject it. The bellybutton is the hardest place to get pierced and to keep it clean. Go to a different piercer next time. Oh, and never use peroxide to clean a piercing. Clean it with a solution designed for piercing care, and in the shower next time be very gentle with it, no scrubbing, just clean off the crust and gently move the bar up and down to get in the hole and do that with just the water to clean it off.

Sometimes our boddies don't accept foreign objects. I'm going to get mine pierced for the first time in a few weeks and I am going to see if they can do it with a sterling silver or plastic jewelry because I have sensitive skin.

Yea, well I had my belly peirced about 10 yrs ago. Dang, thats been awhile!
I had to use Softsoap antibacterial liquid soap. My peircing was like yours, thining, crusty and all that. After awhile it was okay. For like 5 mos. Then I took a trip to Vegas and Cali with some family. We were on the plane, for like 6 hrs. I was wearing jeans with major holes in them ,and had boxer shorts on.
The boxers rubbed my peircing and it got all infected again. I took the ring out and cleaned it good with the soap and anti biotic cream. After awhile it was okay.
It healed and was okya after that. I didn't leave it out permentaly till my 2nd son was born 4 yrs after that.
Good luck

That happened to my friend i think it's because the person who periced it didnt perice it through enough skin. Or you could've tugged on it/got it caught on stuff i.e. your shirt, belt etc. too much. If it leaves a scar do not perice over it, it will hurt a lot more than the first time you periced it, my friend almost fainted. Good Luck
