I got various "cootie" shots, but since I was always the youngest in my class, I never understood what "cooties" were. They were odd, the shots. I mean, one was that you made a peace sign with your fingers, then place one hand on top of the other so as to make a hole, then someone would stick their finger in there as your shot.
We were strange little kids. But, no, I don't think I was ever afraid of getting cooties when I was a kid. I thought they were rather funny.
Except the bit were I got pinched...

yes, Circle Circle Dot Dot now I got my Cootie Shot. I was such a dork when I was a kid. At least those days are way behind me. Now, time for me to teach my girls all about cooties so they leave the boys alone! ^.~
Oh, and just so people know what we are talking about.. Cooties are fictional. Something that children came up to explain why they felt uncomfortable around other children of different sexes.. They aren't like lice or anything like that.... -.-

I never had cooties, but here's a story for the books.
My cousin got cooties at school and he was too embarrassed to tell his mother. My aunt had long, thick, beautiful black hair that went to her waist. Yeah, you know it. She caught them and it took her forever to get rid of them because of the thickness and length of her hair. She asked her son why he didn't tell her and he said (and this may sound racist, I don't mean it to be) "Because only the Mexicans are supposed to have them and I'm not Mexican. Am I a Mexican, Mama?"
That was totally hilarious. Like I said, I don't want anyone to think I'm a racist and send me horrible comments, because I'm not. Some of my dearest friends are of other races. I was just telling the story the way he said it.

Yep ours went something like "Circle circle dot dot, now I've got my cootie shot. Nickle nickle dime dime now I've got it all the time." Oh the joys of childhood; why can't life be that simple when we grow up.
