Ok 2 weeks ago I met this guy who is really cute, nice, a little shy, but a really nice person....we're around the same age....we make a cute couple....I'd never met him in my life or knew anything about him....I could tell he liked me because he kept making eye contact with me....Only problem is that my great-great-grandfather and his great-great-grandmother were siblings. I think this makes us distant cousins..I still like him though...Do you think this is really gross?!!

by the way I'm 16 (soon to be 17), he's 17...its not like we're going to get married or anything. I just feel sorta weirded out by it in a way, but in another way I can't help it ugh

that makes him your 3rd cousin, ....hmmm tuff Q...it depends whether u want to have a fling with him or get married and have kids with him, there may be laws against cousins marrying cousins where you are from, dont think your kids would suffer any genetic mutations as you are distantly related but your families might have a problem with you 2 getting together, weigh all the pros & cons and make that decision carefully...

Is all up to you :) if you really love the man, i guess go for it, but by the same token, u do share some blood,,, i think u have 1/16 the same blood which is not really a big deal.. :) also depends on ur comfort level, some would be turned off by finding out that your somehow related, others will not be. But like i said, is all up to you, ur very distant cousins, so no big deal, more power to you on what u decide.. and if u look far enough, everybody is related at some point in history..

I totally dig my cousins so I don't think there's anything weird at all about digging your second cousins (or whatever you are). Just don't have any kids because I heard incest causes birth defects. I also heard that our close relatives have an odor which our bodies find offensive. This is a biological way to prevent incest probably passed down from our early ancestors. So, maybe if you guys ever get to a point where you are sucking face you might be grossed out by it and that will be the end of it. Or maybe not. Who knows. Never know till you try, hee-hee.

If you go back far enough, I mean technically speaking, everybody is related.
You're not even sure how exactly the two of you are related, so I think that means that the family connection you have is negligible.
Of course it's not gross, not at all. I think it'd be more gross to see two really close friends that have a brother/sister bond hook up!!

well, you cant control the way you feel about someone. you liked him b4 you knew you were related. the truth is that i love my husband so much that if i found out that we were related in the same way you are with the guy you like, i would still stay with him because of my love for him. some may think that is gross, but it is the truth.

y'all are like 16'th cousins. at this point even if you WERE going to get married, it becomes a non issue. If the two of you like each other, don't let the fact that you are very distantly related stop you. heck, you are probably related that closely to a lot of people, and don't even know it.

If you like the guy, and he likes you, I say, go for it.....that far back ancestry is not going to hurt anything. See the guy....he sounds like fun. Gross? No, not at all, at least not to me.
