My mom won't let me shave my legs!
And I'm 13!
She says its not worth it.
But other girls make fun of me.
I have blond hair so it kind of blends in.But not enough for me.....

I'm not going sneek and do it.
And I'm not going wear pants and things that cover up my legs.
So I guess I will just go hairy.....

One of my grandmothers never shaved her legs. She had light blonde fine hair on her legs just like you, and because she never shaved it , it all fell out, so she never had to shave her legs.

It is when you start shaving them that it begins to grow in dark and then you will have to shave them for the rest of your life. If you live to be 70 and you shave them once a week, you will have to shave them 2964 times before you die.

Five minutes per time, that would mean you spent 14820 minutes of your life shaving your legs. That's 247 hrs., and roughly 12 days.

By the time you are your mom's age, you will know what a pain in the @ss it is to have to shave all the time, and you will understand where she is coming from.

Aside from all that, remember to use moisturizer afterwards. (I know you will probably shave anyway.)

Good luck!

Oh gosh! My mom wouldn't either!

Before you go on and shave or wear long pants or argue and argue till your mom wears in and think. What do YOU want to do? If you want to shave your legs, is it because you want to or you feel you have to?

If you really do want to, pop the question on your mom when you are shopping for bra's or or really helping your mom. Sometime where you think she might feel like you are a little more mature and older, ya know what I mean? And then say- Hey mom, I was thinking about shaving? I would look alot better and it is something I just really want to start now. And just because I am growing up, doesn't mean I still won't be your little girl.- she will either laugh or take you seriously on that last part. But it will really mean a lot to her.

Don't just go on and shave. I know how hard it was. I had to wear shorts in PE and even though you couldn't really see the hairs on my legs, I still felt insecure.

BUT, if you really really need to, start and firgure out a way to shave about a month after you asked your mom. Give yourself a razorburn and ask your mom for help on how to fix it. That is what I did. Figure out the best way to tell your mom and then just do it. This time say- I just had to mom. All the GIRLS (be sure to say girls) were making fun of me. I am sorry.- and if you need to agree with your mom and tell her she was right - I shouldve listened to you mom. I started and now I can't stop.- that may help with your mom, depending on how she is.

Gosh, I really wrote a lot about SHAVING! I hope all goes well with your mom and remember.... is shaving worth your mom? or is mom better than the fake barbie doll girls?

You are too young to worry and if girls give you a hard time just tell them they are (a)plastic or phony, (b) tell them to get a life, (c) hey Madonna doesn't. (d) why bother at a young age. Believe me when I say, enjoy your child hood while you have it and be a child. It is okay to do so. Don't be in such a hurry to be like a grown up woman. Childhood just doesn't last long. Besides, alot of woman don't shave the legs. Just tell em to get over it and deal with it if other girls don't like it. In a few years then think about it. Take care and God bless.

just give some money to one of your friends and ask her to buy you a good razor and do it in the mornings before you're mom wakes up. wear pants for a while, or just cover your legss when around her. then just tell her that you started doing it because you were being made fun of and stuff like that. she'll be mad at first, but she'll get over it. that's what i did when my mom wouldn't let me shave. (she doesn't have any hair on her body except for her head naturally. that's why my mom doesn't see why other ppl. need to shave)

I say shave them regardless of what your mother says. why don't you explain to her how much ridicule you are going through or about to go through if the hair keeps growing. Also, have you asked her what she means by "not worth it"...is she trying to tell you it's not worth it to look and FEEL good that you should look like a cave woman?

Wear pants.
You should listen to your mom, she is just trying to be good. Just like parents have to pick their batttles with kids, you should pick yours too. Hold out for the really important things like curfew and cell phones and stuff like that. Besides, guys don't notice leg hair unless it is dark and gangly.

My mom let me shave mine at 13. My dad was like freaking out about it but she told him to let me have some "fun" before it became something I had to do. And your mom probably doesn't want you to grow up too fast. You have your WHOLE life to grow up so don't rush it. ;-)

no one likes hairy legs.. so if you want to just do it.... your mom will have to get over it some time. Whats the worst that can happen.
