I have cerebral palsy and i had a spasm attack that lasted 45 min long last month. I have gone to an orapedic doctor yesterday and did a x-ray on my shoulder and neck. I have been trying to do physical therapy with my neurologist.the therapy hurts alot when i was trying it. So we stopped doing it. I go for an MRI on monday and supposed to have the results on thursday. My mom is against surgery but if my doctors said that i have to have it. Is it going to mess up my cerebral palsy and spinal cord?

May I suggest trying physical therapy with an orthopedic physical therapist, and not a neurologist?

Aside from this, can you explain what the XRAY radiographs showed? You said you have a slipped disc of the shoulder (does not exist) and the neck (does exist) but did not say how you were diagnosed. If physical therapy with a physical therapist does not help, I recommend pain management with a physiatrist. Failing that, you may need to consider surgery. Definitely get a second opinion on the surgery and try to research a physician who has worked with patients with CP before. They will have a better understanding of your condition and you will have a better outcome.

Slipped Disc is an incorrect way of saying either buldging disc or hernaited disc. Home treatments can include ice or heat, or both, Ibuprofin, and bed rest. These may not be the "cure" though. If the pain hasn't gone away then perhaps you should see your doctor to see if something else could be wrong - physical/massage therapy might be another option for you. This isn't much advice, but perhaps can be helpful.
