They say things Like "Get over it" or "forget about it" to justify not remembering history. Which was no different than Wille Lynch in 1712.
"Our experts warned us about the possibility of this phenomenon occurring, for they say that the mind has a strong drive to correct and recorrect itself over a period of time if it can touch some substantial original historical base and they advise us that the best way to deal with this phenomenon is to SHAVE OFF the brutes mental history and create a multiplicity of phenomena of illusions"
Blacks only have one known history and they want you to forget that, why????

I would like to invite you to "X" answer he's dumber than a door knob. Obvious he did not read or comprehend the question. He say learn from the past, as a means to criticize the question. Yet that was the sole point of the question learn from the past.
They said in the past forget about it like the quote, so they forgot. So if they forget today like the past, that's the same as repeating history and learning nothing. See dumber than a door knob.

People of all races have histories
that reach way back beyond just
a couple hundred years.
The pride should come from
long long ago, and from the gene
pool, not a tragedy in history
that nobody can make up for.

It is an ugly part of American history no person can forget that. Look how far as a nation we have come yes there is still racism in the world but maybe someday people will learn to love one another.

Dont worry about what they say. We have more than one history. Have you ever heard about all of the kings and queens in africa?-not just the egyptians either. There were the Nubians(modern day sudan) and other pretty sophisticated civivlizations that had trade with ancient rome and greece.

NO my ancestors were full of hatred, what happened with slavery should not affect you today. you were not chained and bound and forced to work for a taskmaster for little or no pay, you were not personally beaten and bruised, It was your ancestors and sorry but they are gone. What about the rest of us, somewhere along the lines we are part of history as well, as long as you keep your self bound in the past, that is where you will always be. Try living for today and the future, and try to make it as bright as you can

How can we forget all of those years of oppression? Even though our history is full of oppression, sorrow, pain, and suffering, it is our history. It is rich and full of life... that's something that the history of whites does not have. Maybe they are jealous because we actually have a history that doesn't involve us raping, murdering, abusing, and exploiting other races. Maybe they are ashamed of their history. Who knows? But how can we forget something that is so important to us today. If the racial history in America did not matter, then racism would not continue to exist. But it does.

I know what you mean..they tell us to forget about one of the only real known history that we have..they just want us to forget all the hangings, the sorrow, the pain, the struggles.
They make it seem like their is just no more discrimination against blacks today..
They make it seem like just because our ancestors were enslaved it has no effect on us at all..
If one of our child dies..should we just forget about it and move on, because the past is the past..
It's absurd.
We must know our past, or we will be doomed to repeat it..

I know exactly what you're talking about. Two years ago my assistant brought me a danish pastry for breakfast when she KNOWS I HATE DANISH PASTRY!
She claimed she wasn't thinking straight cause her Mom had died the night before but I wasn't going to fall for that. So since that day I've made sure to remind her every morning by throwing my stapler at her and yelling "DON'T YOU GON BRING ME BACK NO DANISH PASTRY Y'HEAR? YOU AIN'T GON GET ME AGAIN WIT NO DANISH PASTRY!! I'LL HAVE YO *** F'YO BRING ME BACK A DANISH PASTRY!!!"
My producer thinks maybe I should lay off the yelling and throwing but how can I let her forget my pain? She knows my stomach rumbles like a freight train if I don't get my ham and cheese quiche for breakfast...

because it's too difficult for them to accept that such horrors were bestowed upon their fellow man by their own hands. if we question the lies they have told throughout history, then they argue vehemently because they know the only way to maintain their position is to subjugate others and convince everyone that they are correct. they will spend billions of dollars to save themselves from losing face before others and continue to hide the horrible truths of the past and present.
