Osama was well-known, along with his terrorist network, long before Bush came along. I wouldn't consider him to be "free", he's a prisoner of his own making. I wouldn't consider living in caves and being a marked man by almost every government in the world "free". Hitler had worldwide notoriety, Pol Pot had worldwide notoriety, so what's your point? Why would Osama be eternally grateful to Bush? Your question doesn't have much common sense behind it. If Osama had any courage, he'd come out in the open and say, "Here I am, come and get me!"
