Hi, today while wearing a contact lens a black particle went into my left eye. It was really bothering me and I was in tears. I was not able to see clearly with that eye either. I thought perhaps it was the lens, so after few hours later, I threw away the lens. But I stilll feel the object in my eye. I think it's somewhere hidden on my upper lid. I feel it. And it's really bothering me. I still dont' see very clearly with that eye (perhaps it was like that, it's just I never noticed, not sure.)

My question is will that particle come out as eye booger or something after a while. I am unable to get it out... it's too inside my eye. Trying to washing it away didn't help either.

Please any opthal or optometrist here, let me know. Thanks.

I had that happen to me a couple times. I wear contacts too and one was bugging me. It felt like an eyelash was in it, and usually gentle rubbing will get it out. If I have access to a mirror I usually just go to it and get the eyelash off the lens with my finger, but since I was working at the time, I had no choice but to try rubbing a bit (even though I know it's a bad idea to rub your eye when there's something in it). It worked awhile, but then it would irritate me again. So when I finally got on my break, I looked in the mirror but couldn't find anything, so I took out my contact to see if anything was stuck on it. That's when I noticed it had a very tiny tear on the rim of it. Even though the contact was out, it still felt like there was something in it. It turned out to just be irritation from the torn contact and cleared up in a few days. I also kept the contact out of that eye during that time so it can get air to help heal faster. If your eye isn't feeling any better in a few days though, you should go to the optometrist and have him/her check it out. =)

If the particle scratched your eye, it may feel like it is still there even after it has been flushed away. Use a cold (ice) compress and flush your eye with water or saline. Don't rub it, it will only make it worse. You can also try taking an over the counter pain reliever, it might help take the edge off.

Go to the optometrist to find out what is bothering with your eye. That is one thing you do not fool around with. I don't believe you will get a correct answer here except to go to your eye specialist.
