are there any particular sites or anythign that mighht help me find front pages or obituaries from the year 1971??

Some of those may be online. Try searchsystems.net and look under the state and county the person died in and you might find county death records. Obituaries are in the newspaper and you could call or email the newspaper in the town the person died in, or if you live there most libraries have nespapers on microfilm that you can look it up in.

No. You would have to go to the court house and look at the newspapers from 1971.

Most newspapers have an archive, on line, but most of them charge for the articles.

It is possible. But a lot of them make you pay for it. You go to the newspaper you are looking for, and go to the archives. You usually have to subscribe and pay before they will let you in there. Not all of them have this available, but a lot of them do.
