the university I go to is only 20 minutes away from my parent's place,so I never had to move out. At first,I thought it would be cool. You know, being able to still hang out with my sis and bro.but now I'm really worried about growing up being dependant on them!!

I think it's ok, as long as you're still in school (of course, if you're going on your 6th year of PhD studies, that's another thing). Why create a financial burden for yourself if you don't have to? I would rather concentrate on doing well in school, rather than worry about things like rent and bills.

I'm going to the University of Toronto and am therefore able to take the subway from where I live right onto campus. I have buses and streetcars at my fingertips and I love. I simply could not afford going into residence. I don't mind living with my parents in the least. I know that, should I be in desperate need of anything, they are right there for me. It's also encouraging to know that I don't have to look far or go far to talk to them. I don't worry about becoming dependent because they are helping me not to and am allowing me not to.

same here. I could just take the subway system from home to get to university, but i decided to live in dorm for a year.
But the rent is expansive, and it is not that fun to live in the dorm.
so you dont have to worry about rent as u live in home

i'm in college and I still live with my parents. I've also lived on my own and you become indepedent when you have to do forself so don't worry about becoming dependant on them, once you get out on your own it'll work out.

it saves a buttload of money. if I were you, I'd probably stay until my junior or senior year, then move out. you've saved some money that way.

*bonus* you can go home for free food and laundry!
