I have mixed feelings about that. I would say yes because if the owner is willing to take care of the pet and is very careful then why not. But I would say no because what if that person gets sick of the pet, or what if it escaped??? Then what? And remember accidents REALLY DO happen!!!

I don't think animals like that should be available at your local petstore. If you are an experienced handler then you should have a seperate "exotics only" place where you could get this type of animal. Not everyone that has access to purchasing a pet should be allowed to purchase it. Some people arent' too bright or responsible. If you want to get stung thats your business but my teenaged brother shouldn't be able to walk into my local petstore and walk out with a tarantula or scorpion just because he could afford it.

I'd like to see seriously venomous and dangerous animals available only by special permit/license (such as is the case for people handling birds of prey; understand they need Federal and State clearances and have to pass testing to demonstrate their knowledge and skills).
General sales to the public as a whole?--tempting to say, "hey, it's evolution in action" and hand over Darwin Award applications. But "innocent bystanders" (like a rescue squad worker) may end up being involved, thanks to someone's sheer stupidity or carelessness. I'd want to see this risk minimized.
You can keep your emperor scorp; that's a "reasonable" level of risk, IMHO.

I think yes only if the owner wants to take care of it and if when you are at the petstore there is a lable that says that the animal is venomous.

People who buy or sell venomous pets are willing to take risk. However, chances of accident are there. I don't think there is any need for restriction

if you are happy with keeping such pets then go on,as long as you observe precautionary measures.but if you were toa sk me i wont spent time effort and money on them coz they might harm me or my family or friends in the future, they are wild animals no matter how you pamper them.their wild instinct may harm or kill you when you wont know it
