It depends on why the baby is crying. A mother knows her baby
and if he is just fussy, needs a change of whatever.
So let caller ID the person, you can call back if it's important, go
answer the door. If it's somone you don't wish to deal with , say
I am sorry I have a sick baby, etc, and slam the door. See to the
baby, then return the phone call as to your choice.
Or you don't have to answer the door or the phone if you don't want to. It is after all your home!

I will pick up the phone.
I work from home, so all the phones during office hours are likely to be important. I used to have a helper when the children were small, so I did not have to worry about the baby. As for the doorbell, I knew someone else in the house would take care of that for me.

Pick up the baby because he is family and he is a baby! Then answer the door because they had the decency to come to your house in person. Finally answer the phone if it's still ringing.

Baby comes first. If the call is important, they will leave a message or call back... ultimately, the caller ID will show me if I really needed to get that call. As for the doorbell, they will just have to wait until I have my baby in my arms before I answer.

Keep your composure, your cool, your calmness and your patience. Tell them through the door to hang tight, and the phone call can be returned by message or caller ID. Spend a few moments with the baby, and then go and see who's at the door.

Grab a bottle from the fridge (and no need if I'm using my own built in bottle), and as I'm heading to the baby - unplug the phone and lock the door !!!!!!!!!! problem solved :-)
