The stuff has made my skin darker in the spots that I used it in, and I want to know if it's permanent. It looks horrible.

Any discolorations caused by chemical exposures usually where off your skin in a few weeks, if its a paticularilly deep stain it will just take longer

I have only known benzoyle peroxide to lighten things, including skin but if that is the reaction you have had you should definitely stop using it. Also skin sheds so fast I cannot imagine it being permanent. I would advise scrubbing your face gently with brown sugar every time you shower.

What happens is it temporarily takes the pigment out and when you go in the sun that spot gets too much melanin.

You should use a sunscreen life SPF 45 on your face whenever you go out after using benzoyl peroxide.
