Last summer on the day we came home from vacation I was feeling kind of odd and could hardly walk. My husband called 911 and I was defibulated on the way to the hospital.
When I got to the ER I had to have my stomach pumped (worse than the defib!!)and have a CT scan. I was anemic and in shock. They had no idea what was wrong and I nearly died. Finally figured out my lungs were filled with blood clots and they ran all kinds of tests but couldn't figure out the cause. I needed 8 pints of blood and 4 pints of plasma.
Several days later, still with no diagnosis, I was about to go home when my foot went numb. There was no pulse and they determined that I had an 8 in. arterial blood clot behind my knee.
When I was in surgery I went into respitory failure and was put on life support and into a medically induced coma then transported to another hospital where they inserted a filter to catch any other clots from going into my lungs. Still no diagnosis.
Out of the hospital for two day when my leg swelled up like crazy. Turns out blood clots were backed up from the filter down to my leg. Would have died without that filter. Finally got a doc who said I wasn't leaving until he figured out what was wrong.
Long story short I had Trosseau syndrome which causes massive clotting in some cancers. Turned out I had Stage 3A endometrial cancer.
The good news is one year later after a total of 4 surgeries, 6 rounds of chemo, 25 rounds of external radiation and 3 rounds of of high dose internal radiation I am cancer free. Praise God!

Falling flat on my face on concrete after tripping over a crack in the sidewalk. When the ambulance got me to the hospital, the nurse thought I had been in a car accident!

I woke up one night and heard hooves--clip, clop, clip, clop--coming down the street. It seemed odd, since it was in the burbs, but I'd seen mounted police around town before, if not in my neighborhood. They got closer and closer, and then came up our front steps (the door's on the second floor) and then I heard someone banging on the door. Sorry to get religious on you, but I somehow knew it was the devil come to get me, so I started praying and I prayed for me to go back to sleep and think it was all a dream.
I'm still not sure whether it was or not....

I wasn't paying attention to my driving and turned right on two a two lane highway. I turned a little to wide and almost was squashed by a dump truck doing 65+ mph. It missed me by only inches, and I forgot to mention that I drive a small sports car. I was soooo scared.

I lost my car at the mall, it was in a parking lot at the opposite site, and the parking lots looked identical. It really scared me! I thought it got stolen!
